Summary of Pastor Bella’s Message on Tuesday, 13th October 2026
Listen to the Sermon:
Biblical Text: 2 Corinthians 9:8–15
In 2 Corinthians 9:8–15, Apostle Paul presents generosity as an expression of God’s grace at work in the lives of believers. He reminds us that God is able to make all grace abound towards us so that, having sufficiency in all things, we may abound in every good work. His teaching goes beyond the act of giving; it reveals the heart of a believer who understands that everything comes from God and should be used to bless others.
Paul further explains that generosity produces thanksgiving to God. When we give willingly and meet the needs of others, we become instruments through which His goodness is revealed. Giving, therefore, should not be driven by compulsion or the desire to impress others, but by a willing heart that recognises God as the source of every blessing. This understanding provides a foundation for the lessons drawn from Pastor Bella’s message and her responses to the questions raised on Monday.
Pastor Bella’s Responses to Monday’s Questions
In responding to Monday’s questions, Pastor Bella addressed issues concerning our daily lives, relationships, and walk with God. Her responses reminded us that spiritual growth requires wisdom, forgiveness, patience, and a willingness to allow God to guide our decisions.
Reflection on Heartbreak
The past should not become a prison that prevents us from moving forward.
Break-ups can be painful, especially when much has been invested emotionally and physically. “The appropriate response to heartbreak, therefore, begins with repentance where necessary, forgiveness of ourselves, forgiveness of the other person, and a deliberate process of healing. We must learn from the experience and move forward.” – WGM Henry
However, healing requires us to release the hurt, forgive where necessary, and trust God to lead us into the future. Holding on to bitterness can weigh down the heart and affect our relationships with others.
Forgiveness, therefore, involves not only letting go of the wrongs done to us but also allowing God to work within us. In Luke 23:34, Jesus demonstrated the importance of forgiveness when He prayed, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do” (NKJV). “God wants us to believe in sexual purity. Our Christianity is incomplete without sexual purity. We have to be totally sold out to God, fear Him, and keep ourselves holy. We must not allow the pleasures of this world to take us away from the God we claim to love.” – Super Samuel
Similarly, questions concerning marriage and family relationships call for wisdom, maturity, and a proper understanding of boundaries. Marriage establishes a new family unit, and Scripture teaches that a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, with the two becoming one flesh.
This does not remove the responsibility to honour parents; rather, it calls for a proper balance between marital commitment and family relationships, guided by love, respect, and the principles of God’s Word.
Pastor Bella also addressed suffering, God’s guidance, and the purpose that can emerge from difficult experiences. Although we may not always understand why certain things happen, we are encouraged to trust God and remain steadfast in Him. Isaiah 43:2 assures us that when we pass through the waters, God will be with us. Difficult seasons, therefore, do not have to separate us from God; they can deepen our dependence on Him. Just as Queen Esther sought God’s intervention before approaching the king, we must learn to seek His wisdom and direction when faced with difficult decisions.
Taken together, these responses remind us that our walk with God must be evident in how we manage our hearts, relate to others, and handle the situations we encounter.
Forgiveness requires us to release hurt, family relationships demand wisdom, and difficult seasons call for continued trust in God. These same principles extend to generosity, which is expressed not only in what we give but also in how we treat others.
Generosity, Love and the Dignity of Others
Building on these lessons, Pastor Bella’s emphasis on generosity draws our attention to the importance of giving with the right heart. In 2 Corinthians 9:6–7, Apostle Paul teaches that whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, while whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. He further explains that each person should give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or out of necessity, because God loves a cheerful giver.
This teaching challenges us to examine both what we give and the attitude with which we give. Generosity should flow from love and genuine concern for others, not from pressure, pride, or the desire for recognition. It must also be reflected in how we treat people, particularly when differences in circumstances or social standing make it easy to overlook their feelings.
The account of the asoebi incident illustrates this principle. What may appear to be a simple decision about clothing or participation in an event can affect another person’s dignity and sense of belonging. Love requires us to consider the feelings of others and act with sensitivity rather than allowing pride, status, or personal preference to determine our actions. A generous heart recognises that everyone deserves kindness and respect, regardless of financial standing or what they can offer in return.
Ultimately, generosity goes beyond material possessions. It is reflected in our willingness to give, forgive, serve, and treat others with dignity. When our hearts are shaped by God’s love, our actions become a practical expression of that love through financial giving, encouragement, service, and consideration for others.
“I came to understand that true giving should leave both the giver and the receiver with a good feeling. Giving is an expression of love, and that love should be felt by the person receiving it. Our attitude and spirit matter just as much as the gift itself. When we give with the wrong attitude, we can rob someone of their dignity; but when we give cheerfully, lovingly, and without expecting anything in return, our giving becomes life-giving and reflects the heart of God.” – Super Karen
God’s Provision and the Blessing of Giving
The demonstration of God’s Providence in our lives further reinforces the need to trust God as our source and provider. Recognising that God supplies our needs should not make us passive or careless; rather, it should strengthen our confidence in Him and encourage us to act in faith.
When we recognise that our blessings come from God, we become more willing to share with others without allowing the fear of lack to control our decisions.
Apostle Paul’s teaching in 2 Corinthians 9:8 reminds us that God is able to provide what we need so that we can abound in every good work. This does not mean that giving should be treated as a transaction through which we compel God to bless us. Instead, it teaches us to depend on His grace and use what He has placed in our hands to fulfil His purposes.
The blessing of giving, therefore, is not limited to what we receive in return. It also lies in the opportunity to meet a need, encourage another person, and inspire thanksgiving to God. We must learn to give with faith, wisdom, and a sincere heart, trusting God while remaining responsible stewards of the resources entrusted to us.
“One important thing I learnt from the message is how God shows up. At a time when the young lady was in need and was having a conversation with Pastor Bella, God sent someone to give money to the ministry. If Pastor Bella had held back and refused to give that money, that solution might not have come. God is so faithful! He provided the seed needed to meet that need because He knew Pastor Bella would release it. The provision came through that act of giving. God will always provide seed to the sower, and He will also multiply that seed.” – Super Itohan
Guarding Our Minds and Meditating on God’s Word
This willingness to trust God and live according to His principles must be sustained through the renewal and discipline of the mind. “Whenever I fall asleep with worship songs playing, I often encounter the vessel singing the song in my dream world. We have godly conversations in the dream, and I wake up with joy in the morning. Sometimes, when I fall asleep while Pastor Bella’s message is playing, I see her in my dreams, giving me counsel because her message was playing while I slept. – Super Ufon
This draws attention to the importance of meditating on God’s Word and allowing it to shape our thoughts, choices, and actions. Joshua 1:8 instructs us to keep the Book of the Law in our mouths and meditate on it day and night so that we may observe and do all that is written in it. Meditation, therefore, goes beyond repeating Scriptures. It involves reflecting on God’s Word, understanding its message, and applying it to our daily lives.
As we consistently meditate on the Word of God, our thinking becomes increasingly shaped by His truth. This helps us respond to challenges with wisdom, exercise restraint in our relationships, and remain focused on what matters. It also strengthens our ability to recognise thoughts and attitudes that conflict with the life God expects us to live.
“Meditation cleanses our mind from all types of stress and makes us concentrate on bigger and better things.” – Josh Kim
Josh Kim, a neurologist, draws attention to the influence of repeated thoughts on our lives. Its central lesson remains important: what occupies our minds can influence our attitudes and decisions. We must, therefore, be intentional about what we dwell on, allowing God’s Word to guide our thinking rather than permitting fear, bitterness, resentment, or distraction to dominate our minds.
This discipline connects directly to the lessons on forgiveness and generosity. A heart continually nourished by God’s Word is better positioned to release offences, exercise wisdom in relationships, trust God during difficult seasons, and give sincerely. In this way, the Word becomes more than something we hear; it becomes a guide for how we live.
The Attitude of a Generous Heart
The lessons from Pastor Bella’s message come together in the understanding that our relationship with God must be reflected in our attitudes and actions. Whether we are dealing with heartbreak, managing family relationships, facing difficult seasons, or giving to others, we are called to respond with faith, wisdom, love, and obedience to God.
A generous heart is not defined only by the amount of money or material possessions a person gives. It is revealed in the willingness to forgive, the readiness to serve, the ability to consider another person’s feelings, and the humility to recognise that everything we have comes from God. Such a heart does not give to attract attention or manipulate outcomes; it gives because love has become part of its character.
Apostle Paul’s teaching in 2 Corinthians 9:8–15 reminds us that God’s grace enables us to abound in good works and that our generosity can lead others to give thanks to Him. As we meditate on His Word and apply its principles, we become better equipped to live out this truth in our homes, relationships, workplaces, and service to others.
In our Christian walk with and work for God, we will be persecuted and have our own fair share of suffering. Even Jesus Christ suffered on the cross for all humanity, so we are not exempted:
“As children of God, we are not exempt from tragedy. The devil may use our pain and suffering to make us resent God and stray from His purpose for our lives. Therefore, we must remain vigilant and bring our pain and tragedies before God, trusting Him to guide and sustain us through difficult seasons.” – Super Kosi
“Something happened nine years ago, and I remember penning down in my journal that Christianity does not offer an escape from the trials and vicissitudes of life; it offers conquest. I believe there is a reason the Word of God says, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you” (Isaiah 43:2, NKJV). – PGG Chisom
CONCLUSION
“You cannot live righteously if you are far away from the Lord and His Word. Stay thankful at all times because where you are now is someone else’s prayer point. Praise God even if you have tears in your eyes. Stay with Jesus because there is hope in Him. Do not let the devil steal your joy. No price is too high to follow the Lord. Keep your eternity in perspective at all times.” – Super Jane
May we cultivate hearts that are willing to forgive, ready to give, quick to show kindness, and steadfast in trusting God. Above all, may our lives reflect the grace we have received from Him so that, through our words, decisions, and actions, others may see His goodness and give glory to His name.

This is re freshing and the message addresses the issues of love, forgiveness and generosity. God bless you pastor Bella for the message. Well done scribes
“Generosity should flow from love and genuine concern for others, not from pressure, pride, or the desire for recognition.”
This is such a reflective word. I am blessed!
This is really a needed message for us as believers. We cannot say we love God and not be motivated to be like Him. Interestingly, giving is an attribute of Love. He who says he loves should be ready to give willingly. God bless you, Pastor Bella for this timely message.
This is a very powerful and needed message.
“You cannot live righteously if you are far away from the Lord and His Word. Stay thankful at all times because where you are now is someone else’s prayer point”.
Thank you so much, Pastor Bella for this rich meal
