Summary of Pastor Bella’s Message on Thursday, 8th October 2026

Listen to the Sermon:

Biblical Text: 2 Corinthians 9:1–7.

INTRODUCTION

Pastor Bella’s message drew attention to the foundational pillars of the Christian walk: giving, integrity, leadership, and the profound responsibility of building people. Service to God must be rooted in genuine love and a wholehearted willingness to offer ourselves to His work. Because our lives, resources, time, and abilities function as seeds, they become powerful blessings to others only when channelled according to Divine purpose. This calling invites us to examine our underlying motives. True service does not depend on public applause, human recognition, or external validation; rather, it requires a heart that remains steadfast even when efforts go unacknowledged, ensuring that the assignment entrusted to us is faithfully fulfilled.

THE MESSAGE

Love Must Be Expressed Through Our Actions
This authentic love finds expression through actions characterised by sincerity, generosity, and unwavering commitment. As leaders, responsibility extends far beyond merely teaching correctness; we must actively model the values we expect others to uphold. Children, colleagues, and followers learn primarily from how we live. Therefore, integrity must govern our speech and actions so that our commitments remain completely trustworthy. As 1 John 3:18 reminds us, “My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.” True love demands consistent action, and integrity provides the essential credibility for the values we profess.

Generosity Is a Reflection of the Heart
Generosity serves as a direct reflection of the heart, requiring preparation, sincerity, and personal responsibility. In drawing from 2 Corinthians 9:1–7, the message highlighted the believers’ readiness to give, referencing the generosity of the Macedonians and sending Titus ahead to ensure the promised gift was prepared without compulsion. As verses 6 and 7 instruct, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will reap bountifully. Each person should give as purposed in the heart, not grudgingly or of necessity, because God loves a cheerful giver. True generosity is measured not by the quantity given, but by the joyful attitude behind it, reflecting Proverbs 11:24: “There is one who scatters, yet increases more; and there is one who withholds more than is right, but it leads to poverty.”

Integrity Must Be Evident in Leadership
Leadership similarly carries the weighty duty of setting a righteous example, demanding that our conduct never contradicts the principles we teach. When actions align with words, confidence is built, and a reliable standard is established for others to follow. Proverbs 10:9 notes, “He who walks with integrity walks securely, but he who perverts his ways will become known.” Influence is inextricably tied to character, requiring leaders to respond faithfully to responsibility, treat others justly, and remain resolute when doing what is right becomes inconvenient.

Build People and Make the Most of Your Time
Building people and redeeming time are integral extensions of this leadership mandate. Assignments extend beyond individual task completion; we must recognise the people placed around us and intentionally invest in their growth. Ephesians 5:15–16 urges us, “See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” Mentorship requires patience, intentionality, and a willingness to share knowledge so that others become better equipped for their own callings. The true impact of a life is measured by the strength and preparedness of those we help elevate.

Sowing and Reaping: The Value of Faithful Service
Every act of service and expression of generosity acts as a seed planted in God’s Kingdom. Galatians 6:9 encourages this steadfastness: “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” Because our labour is seen by God, service must never be driven by a desire for immediate human reward. Trusting God through this process becomes paramount, especially during seasons when answers are scarce and circumstances are difficult. Proverbs 3:5–6 directs this trust: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Obedience often requires moving forward in faith before the full picture becomes clear.

Remain Faithful Through Difficult Seasons
Difficult seasons inevitably test commitment and character, but they should never cause us to abandon our God-given responsibilities.
James 1:2–3 reminds us to “count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.” God uses these demanding periods to refine character, teach deep dependence, and prepare us for future assignments. Recognising our unique roles within the body of Christ prevents comparison and centres our focus on faithful stewardship. As Colossians 3:23–24 instructs, “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.”

Understand Your Assignment and Offer Yourself to God
Recognising our unique assignments in God’s Kingdom prevents us from assuming everyone is called to serve in the exact same way. Each person has a responsibility to discover, embrace, and faithfully fulfil what God has entrusted to them. Our lives should be viewed as seeds offered to God, requiring intentionality in our choices, time management, and responses to service opportunities. We must resist comparing our assignments with those of others, focusing instead on faithful stewardship and making ourselves available to become a blessing to others.

The Somachi Story and Active Obedience
The insights from the Revival Week further reinforced these truths. The poignant AI video presented by the IGG team featured the story of Somachi—a three-year-old child whose profound act of faith in walking across a bridge simply because Jesus directed her served as an insightful modern parable. It challenged listeners to move beyond passive hearing into active obedience, echoing the scriptural call of James 1:22: “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”

PERSONAL REFLECTIONS

Super Itohan:
When I heard Pastor Bella say that God told her to trust Him, it felt as though she was speaking directly to me. Honestly, for a moment, I sank deeply into those words and believed them for myself, too. Those questions I have and the things I do not understand right now, I took her response to heart: trust Him completely.

Super Karen:
As I listened to Pastor Bella’s teaching and connected all the pieces, I came to realise that we all have unique assignments in God’s Kingdom, and we must view our lives as seeds that we offer to Him. Whenever we give ourselves in service to the Lord, we are sowing seeds, and we will reap a harvest, both in this life and in eternity. When we choose to sow generously, we will also reap generously.

CONCLUSION

Pastor Bella’s message calls for an integrated Christian walk where love, integrity, generosity, and steadfast trust harmonise. By redeeming time, building people with purpose, and surrendering our unique assignments to God, we live out the ultimate conclusion of Ecclesiastes 12:13: “Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is man’s all.”

May we be found faithful in our assignments, fruitful in our service, and unwavering in our trust in God.
