Summary of Pastor Bella’s Message on Tuesday, 29th September 2026
Listen to the Sermon:
Biblical Text: 2 Corinthians 8:10–24
Introduction
The grace of God, which is evident in the church of Macedonia, is expressly seen in the way they practise love. Paul encourages the Corinthians to emulate the sacrificial stewardship of the Macedonian church. Despite not having much, they were willing to give all for the sake of the Gospel and for the edification of the Body of Christ.
Love shows up when God is involved. Love does not come into your life to take; love gives and shares. Love is interested in making another person better. Love saves a drowning soul, which is likened to what our Lord Jesus Christ did on the Cross of Calvary for humanity.
“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.” — 2 Corinthians 8:9 (NKJV)
“I remember a time when I had to conduct a check/filter on my circle. I had to identify those who were my people and those I needed to keep at arm’s length—not grudgingly, but for the sake of order.” — IGG Mary
Message
From the Macedonians, we understood that kingdom-mindedness requires us to look beyond our circle and extend to the wider Body of Christ.
Territorial Christianity is not what we are called to practise, where we are only concerned about our church, our place of service, the people God has entrusted to us, or what is happening within our own circle.
We should also be on the lookout for others and ask what we can do with what we have received from God.
This is why the message ultimately brings us back to surrender. When we give ourselves to God, we become less controlled by our desires, less possessive of what we have, and less threatened by what others carry. We become more available to God and, consequently, more available to people.
We can give, help, care, show kindness, strengthen someone, create room for someone else to grow, and use what God has placed in our hands for the good of others.
The Macedonians first gave themselves to the Lord, and then their resources became available for the work of the kingdom.
Generosity is deeper than what we give; it is about who we have given ourselves to. When we are God-centred, we can become vessels through which God cares for other people.
This is where love becomes practical because love will always find expression in giving.
Life is already so hard and challenging for everyone, rich or poor, young or old, happy or saddened.
We all face different seasons and different battles. So, the only place we can truly find refuge is in God. There is no area of our lives that is outside God’s reach.
He is present with us in every season, and we can take every care, burden, joy, and concern to Him.
We must believe in Him and trust Him for everything while we keep on living and not give up, no matter what we face.
“For all things come from You, And of Your own we have given You.” NKJV 1 Chronicles 29:14b
Tithing
Tithing is a crucial aspect of obeying God. When you love God and gain understanding about certain things, you will not dismiss tithing.
“Bring all the tithes into the storehouse…” — Malachi 3:10 (NKJV)
In loving God, you should be generous towards Him. Surrender your life to Christ; allow Him into every compartment of your heart.
“My son, give me your heart, And let your eyes observe my ways.” — Proverbs 23:26 (NKJV)
Do not elevate yourself above others. Be humble and allow others to grow. Love God and love others. Prioritise God above everything else. Allow God to make choices for you in all things.
“And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.” This is the first commandment. “And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” — Mark 12:30–31 (NKJV)
Christianity is birthed in sacrifice.
Love is expressed through giving, and we are called to serve. In diverse ways, this is reflected in what a woman does for her family. Motherhood beautifully reflects this. From pregnancy to labour, delivery, and beyond, women give so much of themselves—enduring pain and sacrificing. *Mothers deserve their flowers.*
Integrity
Integrity reflects our walk with God. As believers, our lives should reflect the character of Christ because we are vessels through which God makes Himself known. When we are yielded to God, our choices and actions align with His will.
“One of the things that stood out to me from this message is the importance of integrity. We must always show up and be people of our word. Even when people may have struggled with keeping their promises or living by their word in the past, there has to be a rewiring when we come into a place where we are constantly reminded of who we are and who we are called to be. Integrity will take you a long way. — Super Itohan”
Sexual Purity
Many single Christians struggle to honour God with their sexuality. As believers, we are called to submit our sexual life to God by keeping this covenant within marriage. Sex is pleasurable if done right and by two married people.
Sexual immorality is not good, and if you truly love and fear God, there are things you will never do. Ask yourself if you have given every part of your life to Jesus. God is your Father. Let God figure out the world for you, just like a child who waits for his parents to take care of him.
People do not see the need to marry anymore because sex is so easily accessible. Honour God with your body. Do not go into a sexual relationship with anyone, because if you do not repent from sexual immorality, you are going to hell.
“But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” NKJV Revelation 21:8
“One of my former colleagues, when I reached out to her to ask her about her courtship with one of my brothers (not biological, but from the same tribe), responded by saying, “He does not know what he wants.” I asked her, “What happened?” She told me that my brother said he was confused. Immediately, I asked her a question: “Have you guys known each other carnally?” She said, “Yes.” I told her, “That is why the man is confused about whether to marry you or not. He has gotten what he was looking for in you.” I boldly told her, “He may not marry you again because you have already granted him access to your body.” — Super Ufon
Season of Plenty & Lack
Furthermore, there are several seasons in humanity, but two are striking: the season of plenty and the season of lack. Either one can create chaos, distortion, or ease in an individual.
“I often remember that when you have plenty or are in a season of financial abundance, we tend to see ourselves as the brains behind the success.” — IGM Joseph
Brethren, we have to be careful in these two seasons. It is also likened to pleasure and problems; they can distract a man from God. Sometimes, the problems of life are just too burdensome, and you turn away from God. You become so pragmatic in your problem-solving that you ignore the place of faith in God.
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding.” — Proverbs 3:5 (NKJV)
It is either your problems or pleasures that are distracting you from God. Whatever season you are in, whether in plenty or lack, make sure you are locked in with God daily.
There are seasons that will teach you that God is all that you have. Experience God. He is in everything: nature, your social media feed, etc. God will meet you in distant and interesting places.
Problems expose your spiritual maturity.
“But He knows the way that I take; When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.” — Job 23:10 (NKJV)
Gifts and the Purpose of God
Gifts showing up unexpectedly are a sign to show you that God is still interested in you. Sometimes, you wonder, how come the helper knows you needed that gift? God works in mysterious ways. God raises them up for you to get answers.
So, keep on living; do not give up. Make sure you are daily soaked in the Word of God.
Why are you a part of this ministry if you are not listening to the teachings? You are not here by accident. You are here for a purpose.
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works…” — Ephesians 2:10 (NKJV)
Counselling and Secrecy
In addition, counselling is a critical department in Christianity. Counselling is about trust and confidentiality. It is expected that you keep it private.
It is so sad that a lot of counsellors today go about divulging their patients’ sensitive personal stories. It is even to the point that some spiritual leaders do the same. This rather breaks; it does not unify or make the victim any better.
“A talebearer reveals secrets, but he who is of a faithful spirit conceals a matter.” — Proverbs 11:13 (NKJV)
“In Human Resources, I get to interface with people on very personal matters. I often know things about people that others in the organisation may not know, and by God’s wisdom, I have learnt to keep those things discreet. But beyond the professional responsibility, the role has also given me opportunities to minister. There have been times when someone comes into my office with a matter, and the Holy Spirit simply prompts me, ‘Hold their hands and pray with them.’ I love that. It is one of the things that make my work feel so close to ministry.” — Super Itohan
Impact of Good Parenting
As a child of God, live by godly standards. “I can just imagine if there is a time in heaven when God allows the saints who have gone to glory to take a look once in a while at their loved ones who are still on earth fulfilling God’s purpose. I believe they are the cloud of witnesses who cheer us on. Pastor Bella, if there is that time, your dad, I am sure, looks forward to this moment just to peep through and see how his beloved daughter is doing.” — Super Karen.
To the single ladies, be careful of men; some men just want to take advantage of you. Thank God He has sons who are moral and responsible. He has sons who have kept themselves and refuse to get into sexual immorality. If a man really desires to make you his wife, he will walk in the standards of God. “The moment I press play, the Spirit of God truly takes over, and I really open my heart to hear because I know I will be blessed. Pastor Bella, if you can be ministered to by your own message, why should we then cheat ourselves of the beauty of it? One of the things I love about your life, particularly your background, is the things that were imbibed in you. They are still here. And every time I listen to you say things that you learnt as a child, my mind just goes back to things I now do as an adult that came from my background and what I was exposed to. I love that your parents groomed you already for ministry and the work and walk of God.” — Super Itohan
Conclusion
We need God in every season of our lives. We need God to survive all that comes to test us, and we must be ready in all seasons. Whether life is sweet or difficult, whether we understand what God is doing or we do not, whether we are celebrating or fighting through a difficult season, we must keep coming after Him. We must seek God. We must abide in Him. We must hold on to His Word. At the end of it all, God is all that we have.

God, help me to be God-centered. To become a vessel through which God cares for others, Amen!
We are doers of the word of God not just hearers of His word.
Faith comes by hearing the word of God.
Another dose of the undiluted word!
I pray greater grace upon you, Pastor Bella.
